      I bought a used 2004 Saab 9-3 convertible and brought it here to have them check it out. The mechanic--Luigi--found several issues that correctly needed attention, but at least 3 that did not: the water pump was not shot, and the muffler and flex pipe were not bad. He also pronounced the Engine Control Unit to be on it's last legs. Two Saab mechanics since then have rejected each of those diagnoses. Luigi's conclusion was that the car needed $5k work, and that it wasn't worth it. This was not the first time that JMK--now BMW of Springfield--told me to get rid of my Saab. The first one had a broken gas guage that they said would be $2,000 to fix. On that basis, I traded it in--to my regret. Later, when I spoke to non-dealer Saab mechanics, I was told this could have been fixed for under $500. These guys may be great for Bimmers, but they're a legacy Saab shop, and I don't think they want to keep your Saab on the road.

      This Saab Service Center is excellent - you make an appointment; there's a technician waiting for your car when you arrive. Service is friendly, prompt and thorough. I've been there several times since purchasing the vehicle there in 2008, and I highly recommend them.
